Job Summary: 

Ethnicity Matters (EM) is looking to add a Jr. Production Artist to our creative team.

Reporting to the Sr. Production Artist, you’ll use your creative and technical skills to support our production team in bringing print and digital ideas to life in multiple languages, for a variety of clients.

The Ideal Candidate:

You are capable in all things production: modifying artwork, image resizing, file optimization, GIF touch-ups, and final product mock-ups. You know your way around color modes conversion (RGB, CMYK, Pantone), font treatments, and have experience with both digital and print media file prep. Fluency in creative software (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is a must.

You’ll have the HTML skills to develop animated banner ads and the entrepreneurial spirit that’s needed to own this part of the production process.

Organized and detail-oriented, you will work for a small but mighty team that is determined to get awesome work out on time. Knowing your way around agency process and branding is extremely helpful.

What You Will Need to Succeed:

Ability to create animated banner ads and HTML savvy
Adobe Creative Suite proficiency: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
G-Suite familiarity or willingness to learn
Very comfortable designing and preparing files
Demonstrated experience with image manipulation and GIF creation techniques
Familiar with final product mock-ups
Ability to translate various specifications to multiple formats
Thorough knowledge of printing techniques and processes
Experienced with different typesets for marketing purposes (ideally have familiarity with one or more of Canada’s immigrant languages: Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Tamil, Hindi, Urdu, Tagalog, Arabic, etc.)
Detail oriented, organized, solid time management skills and self-motivated
Ability to work as part of a team and independently to meet deadlines
Well-developed problem-solving skills
Excellent communication across all mediums
