Could this be you?

A Retoucher creates final imagery for use in advertising and marketing materials and is responsible for creating these final assets using any combination of retouching, illustration and CG skills. A Retoucher has expert knowledge of Photoshop, file types, file resolution and color management. Project types range from creative retouching, applying special effects, developing stylistic standards for specific clients and/or campaigns to CG renderings, multi-image composites, product updates and vehicle color shifts.

In this role you will…

Be responsible for the quality, craftsmanship, timeliness and profitability of every retouching project
Encourage and maintain collaboration with Creative and Design teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, brand standards and creative excellence on all projects
Understand and consistently follow established brand image styles and guidelines
Identify opportunities and develop measures to improve work process and quality of end product
Take ownership of projects and meet deadlines given
Proactively make decisions and ask questions to elevate the work and reduce the number of revisions
Build long-term, trust-based relationships with clients and create positive experiences for all who interact with Makerhouse
Establish new and foster existing relationships with Producers and Creatives with an eye towards creating more opportunities and business growth
Solicit project feedback from Creatives and Producers and communicate back to the team
Maintain daily communication with Group Design Director, Studio Producer, Design Business Director and/or agency contacts on project status
Communicate effectively with all Makerhouse functional area leads to ensure cross-disciplinary projects run smoothly
Keep strong lines of communication open through face-to-face discussions and email
Provide working solutions and education regarding Makerhouse capabilities and processes to clients for successful execution of their projects
Take direction from the Production Director, Production Artists, Designers, Project Managers and/or agency Creatives
Capture accurate notes when receiving direction, and QA work before delivering at each phase
of project
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

You have…

Expert knowledge of Photoshop, file types, file resolution and color management
Have a working knowledge of InDesign and Illustrator to support Photoshop work
Ability to prepare and mark up PDFs for work reviews
Effective collaboration with others throughout the design, creative and production process
Have strong organizational skills relating to naming, saving and storing files
Ability to follow directions easily and cooperatively
Ability to work within tight project deadlines
Basic understanding of CG required, working knowledge of CG software programs a plus
Strong communication and customer service skills


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Automotive marketing experience preferred.
5+ years of experience in creative retouching. CG experience a plus.
Have physical and mental requirements to meet the above listed job responsibilities.
